Welcome To My Wasted Tax Dollars.com
Subsidizing private gym memberships in Maine. Government money to buy BlackBerrys to help smokers quit. Paying lobbyists to make sure fast food restaurants and convenience stores don’t sell products they don’t want them to.
What do these expenditures all have in common? You paid for them. Yes, you!
All three projects are examples of what the taxpayers are paying for in the federal stimulus money passed by Congress and signed by President Obama in February 2009. The goal of the stimulus: create jobs. Gym memberships…
BlackBerrys… and regulating fast food and convenience stores.
We’d like to know what you think about these projects and others that are being funded through the stimulus.
This site will show you – and get from you – the most egregious stimulus projects that YOU, the American taxpayer, have paid for. To do that we introduce MyWastedTaxDollars.com, a project of Citizens Against Government Waste.
My Wasted Tax Dollars needs your help – try out our interactive map to find wasted stimulus dollars in your state, and help us locate more. They are out there, so take a picture, load it up, and see your photo on our site too. Become a stimulus watchdog, tell your friends about the site, and we will help make sure that your message gets noticed by taxpayers and the politicians who are responsible for all of this wasteful spending.
Check back often for more waste, more ludicrous stimulus spending, and fun ways to see what else is going on around the country!
